The Together Program has launched three new projects since May 2025, with activities to boost children’s emotional wellbeing, skill development and career ideas. The program reaches the most vulnerable children — in care institutions, foster families, and in difficult circumstances. In wartime Ukraine 44% of children are having difficulty concentrating, easily getting upset or feeling lonely. Our activities are not just educational or therapeutic — they are a space where children develop emotionally, get to know themselves, and feel cared for – to build resilience.
Together activities are regularly brought to children's institutions in the Lviv region, providing consistent support and development opportunities for children in institutional care, foster care facilities and communities. We are glad we can add to these with three series of activities: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Drama Lessons and "The World of Professions".
"Thanks to regular programs, we see big changes in children's behavior: they become more confident, share their thoughts and start talking about their lives," says Khrystyna Savchyn, Manager of the program "Together - Volunteers for Children".
To show how far this reaches, in 2024 there were:
Cognitive behavioral therapy helps children recognize emotions, overcome anxiety, form positive thinking, and establish healthy interactions with others. In the classroom, children learn tools for managing their thoughts and emotions, work with the cognitive triangle, learn muscle relaxation and problem-solving techniques.
38 children in care are already participating in the project, and the number of participants is constantly growing. A series of classes took place at the Prosvita Lyceum, and continue at the Lviv Children's Care Center, Caritas Radekhiv Charitable Foundation, and the Living Pearl Family Home (Bortnyky village).
Acting classes are more than a theatrical game. This is therapy through creativity, which helps children better understand and express their emotions, builds confidence, imagination and communication skills.
Today, 34 children from the Lviv Child Care Center, Nahuyevytsia Special School and Caritas Radekhiv Charitable Foundation are participating in the program. Classes will last for 6 months, gradually covering new locations and groups.
The program has already reached 215 children from institutions, foster families, communities and families affected by the war. Among the locations are the Lviv Child Care Center, Nahuyevytsia Special School, Caritas Radekhiv Charitable Foundation, Oberig NRC, Living Pearl Family Home (Bortnyky), Caritas Hlynyany, and the community of the village of Polonychi.
The children also visited the Family Gold Masters jewelry factory, made natural soap, learned about cybersecurity, and had sex education classes — all in an atmosphere of respect, play, and learning.
We sincerely thank our donors from Germany, who give children a chance for new knowledge, emotional well-being and development. This is more than help - it is faith in every child who is growing up in very difficult circumstances, that they have the right to a happy future.
We continue to expand the reach of our programs because we know that a happy childhood and opportunities for the future should be available to every child.
And we can create these changes TOGETHER.
