Since the war began we have helped people who fled their homes, giving comprehensive support in Lviv. In the first 7 months we provided these displaced people with 20,542 beds in hostels, and also provided housing to 40 women and children at a time in our "Care Center" and large family house. They tell their stories of escape, adjusting and finding security.

Оскільки розпочинається навчальний рік, ми дбаємо про те, щоб найуразливіші діти мали все необхідне для школи. 157 дітей заявили про свої потреби і були забезпечені канцелярським приладдям, шкільними портфелями і взуттям, щоб у них було все необхідне для хорошого старту.

Our Creative Hub for children’s education and development has run for three months, serving children and young people from Lviv and those who left their homes in the war. 22 young people completed our IT Training course. Local organisations like Care in Action are leading Ukraine's aid effort, and essential to helping the 7 million displaced people within Ukraine. So every one of the 198 people cared for in our shelters, every mother we help to find a job, every child we help to enrol in a new school in the relative safety of Lviv is significant. 

In July we are helping refugees move out of school halls and into our hostels so classrooms can reopen, and Director Jasmine Lehnis-Leitao met some of them in her visit to Lviv. By asking donors to fund another 85 people in hostels, we can meet the essential need for children in Lviv to benefit from teaching, social interaction and routine in school.

We are happy to report that our Creative Hub, opened on June 1st, is serving children and parents who have lost their homes in the war. The child-friendly spaces and range of activities give children who are living in hostels and halls a chance to play, enjoy learning and adjust to life in a new city. These are important steps in rebuilding lives, and parents are making new friends and looking for work.
