Vacancy: Sponsorship Programme Coordinator and Office Manager

As Sponsorship Coordinator with Care in Action you will have a direct influence on helping socially vulnerable children and young people to develop skills, improve their welfare, and move into higher education or decent work. This is achieved through sponsorship of tutoring, dormitory payments or basic needs, combined with communication to build relationships, understand needs and encourage positive outcomes. Updates to sponsors show what a difference their sponsorship makes.

Care in Action has been working in Ukraine since 1998. We work closely with our partner organisation “Turbota v Dii”, established in 2011. Our mission is to improve the lives and opportunities of vulnerable children. We do this by helping children to develop skills, by providing expert advice and support for foster parents, and by developing partnerships with volunteers and organisations who share our goals.

Through this work we see more children who were previously disadvantaged grow up to support themselves and be a positive part of society. They become empowered to escape poverty through decent work, have a lifestyle that supports health and wellbeing, have friends and family, and be free from discrimination.

For this role you will be based at the office in Lviv (м. Львів, вул. Туган Барановського, 16/6), and coordinate with the German charity Care in Action. You will also coordinate with sponsorship administrators in Malawi (Southern Africa). English language skills would be an advantage.

As Office Manager you will help to create a good working environment for the team. Our organisation has a broad range of programmes, so from time to time you may be involved with events, such as camps for young people or foster families, or other activities where the team works together to gain the best results.

Person specification:

For this role you will need to have administration skills to keep careful records and be well organised. You will also need good interpersonal skills, to build relationships and develop an understanding of the individual’s needs and interests. If you would find it rewarding to give disadvantaged children and young people equal access to opportunities, quality education and help to move into decent work, then this is the right job for you.

Qualifications and essential skills:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Education would be an advantage, alternatively you may have qualifications in Business Management together with an interest in developing people’s skills
  • Excel and Word proficiency is needed for data management and communications
  • English language skills (or ability to use online translation for communication)
